There is more than one way to solve many of our health care needs. I believe in continually improving our system in Utah to obtain the following three goals:
1) Increase Access to Healthcare – including ensuring that programs, including Medicaid, are available to all those who reasonably need them.
2) Decreasing Costs of Healthcare – Right now, so much is determined by a system of demand where too many individuals get a cut. A health emergency should never cause someone to go bankrupt.
3) Focus on Preventative Care – Incentavize citizens to make healthy choices, visit the doctor regularly, and avoid as many health care costs by preventing more health care needs down the road. We won’t force you to be healthy, but we can make policies that encourage healthy living!
