Economic Growth

Utah has done a great job when it comes to economic growth. With it has come a lot of new industry, new jobs, and new opportunities. It has also brought a higher cost of living, more expensive housing, more traffic, environmental concerns, and a host of other challenges.

I believe strongly in the value of free markets, and will always promote continued economic growth, including new industries that make Utah a modern, efficient, and great place to live. I will seek to keep business taxes low, and err on the side of fewer regulations. I also commit to always look through the lens of sustainability when promoting economic growth.

We must look at the economy from bottom to top to ensure that our growth is sustainable and positive for all. We can’t run faster than we have strength, and we can’t build our economy upon the sand. Growth only for the sake of growth is not a good thing. Sustainable, smart growth is.
